Arenal Volcano Spore Swab

Description

Psilocybe cubensis var “Arenal Volcano” originated from the Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica. There is some confusion around var “Arenal Volcano” and “Costa Rican” as the “Costa Rican” variety was discovered in the Arenal Volcano region and then domesticated. Either a subpopulation of “Costa Rican” was renamed “Arenal Volcano” and then they became separate varieties, or a second collection of wild spores from Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica was domesticated later into Arenal Volcano. The cubensis “Arenal Volcano” is sometimes known as Costa Rican, so it is unclear the exact distinction at this time.
MMM’s suppliers always provide the variety names they were given, so while the difference in Arenal Volcano and Costa Rican is unknown, MMM is treating this as a separate variety from Costa Rican and asks anyone trading these samples to call them Arenal Volcano.

Spores are for microscopy/art/collection purposes only as specified in the TOS.
Spore swabs are sterile medical swabs covered in spores and wrapped in foil. Spore swabs are sold as singles.
Spore swabs are sent in a ziplock bag with “Microscopy use only” written on the ziplock.
Spore swabs will be labelled with an acronym for the variety or with the full variety name or, if it is a single swab, the ziplock may be labelled.
Due to environmental, genetic, and other conditions, the phenotype contained within the spores may be different than the collector’s card image. All varieties, especially mutant ones, are vetted to ensure the correct genetics are being sold.
